Simply strutting... at Fair@Square this weekend

These past couple of months have been such a blur that I almost forgot about another first I have coming up this weekend: Simply Phoebe makes its catwalk debut!

Let's be clear it's not me on the catwalk (phew!), but a few of my creations will be featured in the fashion show being held as part of the Fair@Square Fair Trade + Ethical Festival, on at Federation Square in Melbourne this weekend.

I am really proud to be part of an event that celebrates and promotes ethical fashion and am looking forward to checking out the work of others doing their bit.

My involvement came about through meeting one of the organisers at Finders Keepers.  She liked my work and the fact that my pieces are created using remnant, recycled and vintage materials, making them a good fit with the event.  You can check her her own creative adventures and fashion and craft-related musings on her blog,  Style Wilderness (oh, and if you'll excuse a little self-induldence, I do have to share that I was extra-chuffed to find out that she is a former fashion editor of Vogue Japan!).

The fashion show is on at 2:45 pm on Saturday and Sunday at Federation Square.  It's being hosted by Lady Melbourne, vintage-fashionista extraordinaire, and there's a ton of other fashion and non-fashion related events happening as part of the festival over the weekend.  You can check out the full program here

Simply yours,
